Porta Hedge Crew Members

This summer the Porta Hedge hits the road on a month-long tour around the United States with a crew who will assume the role of field testers, tenders, movers, and documenters.

Justin conceived of the Porta Hedge while seated on the Porta Park on a crowded New York City avenue.

The Porta Hedge originally came to mind as an opportunity to transform the space between sidewalk and traffic lane, to create a privileged space from within which one might echo the play of children and the habitation of birds in real hedges, while addressing several other issues often on his mind: the flow of information across media, the green paradigm, and the distinction between nature and artifice.

Chris is on the tour from New Jersey to Denver.

Chris is a sculptor who loves to cast. In addition to his logistical support on the tour, Chris is working on an audio project that addresses first memories.

In addition to providing logistical support, Chris is using the Porta Hedge as a platform to survey the landscape for his future projects. In his recent paintings, Chris transforms photographs of landscapes using various media including .

Colleen joins the tour for the return leg from San Francisco to New Jersey. Colleen begins her MFA studies in Painting at SMU in Dallas, Texas at the end of the summer.
